Meningitis B – updated information for pharmacies

There have been a number of questions and a lot of information which has been sent out as it has come to light, so we thought it might be helpful to pull all of the information together for you into one document, which you can access on NHS Futures: Meningitis B FAQs July 2026

For those who have not yet begun vaccinating, please check to ensure that you have completed all of the actions that you need to take to enable you to order vaccine and start delivering vaccinations. As a reminder, the service specification states:

7.10. The pharmacy contractor must administer at least 10 vaccines between 20 July and 30 September 2026 or the Commissioner may suspend supply of vaccine.

Below are the actions you will need to ensure you have completed to be able to order vaccine and start delivery of the programme. Please can you address any outstanding actions as soon as possible or email england.eoe-vacprg@nhs.net if you have decided not to progress with delivering this programme.

Actions – please ensure you are compliant with all of these:

National Booking System: All pharmacies must list a minimum of 100 appointments per month on NBS, available across various times including late afternoons and Saturdays (where applicable). Guidance on setting up appointments is available here: Manage Your Appointments guidance – NHS England Digital

Federated Data Platform – supply dashboard: You must complete the site acknowledgement page in the Federated Data Platform (FDP). If you don’t yet have access to FDP, please Request Access here. You will not be able to order any vaccine until you have completed your site acknowledgement page.

Log into the FDP Supply Dashboard and Review and confirm your site details

  • Site lead contact information
  • Storage capacity

Update any incorrect information and click ‘Accept’

Federated Data Platform – Order vaccine: Once the above steps are complete, you will automatically be allocated 10 doses (1 box) of 4CMenB (Bexsero) vaccine on the FDP Supply Dashboard. You must then actively place an order on FDP to draw down this stock as vaccine will not be dispatched automatically. Guidance is available here: MenB Vaccine Supply and Ordering Guidance and FAQs – Vaccinations and Screening – Futures. The guide “ 08. How to order vaccine – COVID Supply – Vaccinations and Screening – Futures” also shows the ordering process in detail and is the same for Bexsero as for COVID vaccines.

REMINDER – MYS Claims should be submitted by 5th August for July vaccination activity

Please also remember that claims for payments must be made via the NHSBSA’s MYS portal. Payment for Meningitis B is via a manual claims process within MYS through completion of a Snapsurvey to enter the number of vaccines administered. Claims for payment should be submitted by the 5th of the month following the month the activity was provided, and no later than 3 months from the claim period for the chargeable activity provided.
