A Move to ‘Record a Vaccination’ Service (RAVS)
A Move to ‘Record a Vaccination’ Service (RAVS)
From the 1st of September 2026, community pharmacies in England must record all NHS vaccinations using the Record a Vaccination Service (RAVS). This applies whether you are accessing the platform directly or through an approved pharmacy IT system.
Key Actions Required:
-
- New Users: You must sign up for a RAVS account (Record a vaccination website) before the autumn vaccination season begins.
- Existing Users: If you already use RAVS for all NHS vaccinations, no action is required; however, if you only use it for certain services, an administrator must update your profile to include all national NHS vaccinations (including flu and COVID-19) via the ‘Vaccines’ section.
Crucial Operational Details:
-
- Payments: National flu and COVID-19 vaccinations recorded in the RAVS system will automatically trigger your payments via NHSBSA through MYS.
- Reporting: You will also have the capability to download reports directly from RAVS, this will include multiples where accumulated reporting for parent companies is alongside individual branch data.
To note RAVS is only for NHS vaccination services and cannot be used to record private vaccinations.
For general information about RAVS, please visit RAVS England, where you can watch short training videos or join a drop-in session with the onboarding team (via NHS Futures login.
