Operating behind closed doors – stopped with immediate effect

You will have been sent (via NHS Gateway, to your premises shared mailbox) the revised covid-19 SOP for community pharmacy. This removes the facility for closed door working for up to 2.5 hours a day and other temporary changes to opening hours with immediate effect.

Any pharmacies that have been operating behind closed doors, or with temporary changes must now return to normal opening hours and arrangements.

The provisions in the regulations are still there for emergency closures (these pre-date the covid pandemic and cover all emergencies) but will be considered on an individual basis.
